Subject tasters

Want to continue your studies but not sure what subject to choose? The following section will walk you through lots of different subject tasters, including STEM subjects, photography, law, and more.

Taster courses are a great way to experience what studying at university is like and learn more about a particular course – you can even reference your attendance on your UCAS application!

AccessHE Online

AccessHE Online hosts a suite of online subject tasters. Developed by universities, each course consists of four 30 minute interactive, multi-media sessions. Subjects covered include; photography, mathematics, sociology, linguistics and general university guidance.

Lots of universities provide great subject taster opportunities.

Higher & Degree Apprenticeships

The practical nature of higher level apprenticeships means there are less opportunities to try before you decide.

STEM Subjects

Future Learn

Created by The Open University, Future Learn offers over 500 subject tasters. These courses can be accessed for free and most have been created in collaboration with universities from all over the UK.
